4.1. LONG SHORT AND ANNUAL TERM OBJECTIVES
Provide direction, allow synergy, aid in evaluation, establish priorities, reduce uncertainty, minimize conflicts, stimulate exertion, and aid in both the allocation of resources and the design of jobs.
4.2. ANNUAL OBJECTIVES
Desired targets to achieve; used to focus/direct/channel efforts and activities of organization members. They (1) represent the basis for allocating resources, (2) are a primary mechanism for evaluating managers, (3) are the major instrument for monitoring progress toward achieving long term objectives; and (4) establish organizational, divisional, and departmental priorities.
