2.8 COMPETITIVE PROFILE MATRIX (CPM) 

Competitive profile matrix, identifies firm´s major competitors particularly strenghts and weaknesses, in relation with the position. The critical success include internal and external issues, the ratings and total weighted scores for rival firms that can be compared to the sample firm. The factors often included the analysis of: breadth of product line, effectiveness of sales distribution, propietary or patent advantages, location of facilities, production capacity and efficiency, experience, union relation, technological advantages, and e-commerce expertise.
